3 marketing tips from a successful indie author

Last week I was lucky enough to have a conversation with Ella D'avoine from the Soleil Writing Agency, and she was kind enough to bless us with 3 marketing tips for indie authors:
1.Use hashtags
Use hashtags in your caption! If you’re looking for your post to reach more people, it’s super important to use hashtags related to your business/brand. For example, if you’re a fantasy author and you’re trying to reach more readers, try #fantasyreaders, #readersofinstagram
2.Be mindful of colour palettes
Colour palettes! The aesthetic of your feed is more important than you think. This is the first thing people see when they tap on your account, and if it seems messy, more often than not people click off. Try picking out three different colours that relate to your book and keep these colours consistent through your posts.
3.Create reels
Reels. The unfortunate truth is that a lot of people have a short attention span when scrolling through reels, so making them short and sweet can really help with engagement and views. Try creating short teasers with visual aesthetics of your book or pick out a favourite quote of yours and include that!
Keep up the good work and never give up on your dreams!
